Day 02 New Delhi

Morning city tour of New Delhi. New Delhi designed and built by the British in the 1920's-it's a city of wide boulevards impressive Government buildings, green parks and gardens. First you will visit two monuments from Delhi's past Humayun's Tomb and Qutub Minar- built by Qutubuddin Aiabak in 1199, India Gate (war memorial arch), Lakshminarayan Temple, Drive past the President’s House Parliament house, Government secretariat buildings.

Afternoon city tour of Old Delhi . Old Delhi an ancient walled city. Here you will see Red Fort, the most opulent Fort and Palace of the Moghul Empire; Raj Ghat, the memorial site of the Mahatma Gandhi; Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India; and Chandni Chowk, the bustling and colorful market of the old city.

Excursions to Tiger Hill and Ghoom monastery - to view the sunrise and its reflections over the Mount Everest and Mount Kanchanjunga in their majestic glory, later drive to the Tibtean Monastery at Ghoom one of the oldest (1857) in the area that enshrines an enormous gilded statue of Maitrey Buddha. The monastery belongs to the yellow sect and has several valuable Tibetans manuscripts |
