NORTH INDIA & NEPAL

Day 01: New Delhi

Arrive at Indira Gandhi International airport and transfer to your Hotel. Overnight at your Hotel.

Day 02: New Delhi

0900 Hours - Morning proceed for city tour of New Delhi. New Delhi designed and built by the British in the 1920's-it's a city of wide boulevards impressive Government buildings, green parks and gardens. First you will visit two monuments from Delhi's past Humayun's Tomb and Qutub Minar-

built by Qutubuddin Aiabak in 1199, India Gate (war memorial arch), Lakshminarayan Temple, Drive past the President’s House Parliament house, Government secretariat buildings.

1400 Hours - Afternoon proceed for city tour of Old Delhi. Old Delhi an ancient walled city. Here you will see Red Fort, the most opulent Fort and Palace of the Moghul Empire; Raj Ghat, the memorial site of the Mahatma Gandhi; Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India; and Chandni Chowk, the bustling and colorful market of the old city. Overnight at your Hotel.


Day 03: New Delhi/ Jaipur

0700 Hours - Morning depart by surface for Jaipur ( 258 Kms, 05 Hours) Arrive and transfer to your Hotel.

1400 Hours - Afternoon city tour . City Tour City Palace Museum-an imposing blend of traditional Rajasthani and Mughal Art. The museum is resplendent with its collection of robes of royal princes, carpets, an armory of old weapons, miniature paintings portraying court scenes, battle scenes and processions, Jantar Mantar (Observatory) - an accurate observatory built in 1726 AD; Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds) - a five storied wonder with a spectacular pyramidal facade and overhanging windows with latticed screens, domes and spires .

Day 04: Jaipur / Agra

0800 Hours - Morning visit to Amber fort where an elephant ride will be provided. Amber Fort 11 Kms. from Jaipur - a marvelous example of Rajput architecture with its terraces and ramparts reflected in the Moat below. The ascent to the Fort is on gaily-caparisoned elephants. The Fort interior has various royal halls decorated with intricate ivory work, exquisite wall paintings and tiny mirror chips, which create a tantalizing reflection effect.

1400 Hours - Afternoon depart by surface for Agra enroute visting Fatehpur Sikri. Fatehpur Sikri the deserted red sandstone city that was built by Emperor Akbar as his capital. It was a veritable fairy tale city and its 'ruins' are still in a pristine condition. It is not hard to imagine what the court life must have been like in the days of its grandeur. Evening at leisure. Overnight at your Hotel.

Day 05: Agra/ Khajuraho

0900 Hours - Morning city tour of Agra visiting Taj Mahal and Agra Fort . Agra City including its impressive Agra Fort, the local bazaar, of course the high spot of the day-the incredible lacy-white grandeur and loveliness of the Taj Mahal-perhaps the most perfect architectural monument in the World.

Later transfer to airport in time to board flight to Khajuraho. Arrive and transfer to your Hotel.

Overnight at your Hotel.

 

Day 06: Khajuraho

0900 Hours - Morning tour of Western temples. - Half day tour visiting the world famous Khajuraho Temples built by the Chandela kings between 950 AD and 1050 AD the most important are the Chaunsath Yogini Temple dedicated to Goddess Kali. The Mahadev Temple, Chitragupta or Bharatji Temple with a lovely image of 11 headed Vishnu, Vishvanath and Nandi Temples, Lakshmana Temple, Vishva Temple dedicated to Shiva which is the largest and most typical of Temples

1400 Hours - Afternoon visit to Eastern temples. Eastern Group Of Temples Khajuraho - that consist of the Parasvanath Temple- which is the only Jain Temple surviving at Khajuraho and has excellent sculptures on the outer walls of the sanctum, the javeri Temple dedicated to Vishnu the other Temples in this group are those dedicated to Brahma, Yamuna and Adinath. Overnight at your Hotel.

Day 07: Khajuraho/Varanasi

Morning at lesiure. Transfer from hotel to airport in time to board flight to Varanasi. Arrive and transfer to your Hotel . Overnight at your Hotel.

Day 08: Varanasi

0400 Hours - Early morning boat ride on River Ganges. Early morning boat excursion on the holy River Ganges to see the bathing ghats and cremation site. Watching people bathing and worshipping at the Ghats is one of the most extraordinary experiences of a visit to India.

0930 Hours - Morning city tour. City Tour visiting the City Temples - the Durga Temple, better known as the monkey temple on account of the large number of monkeys residing there and the Temple of Vishwanath (or Visheshwar."Lord of the Universe") are the most sacred spots in the city.

1400 Hours - Afternoon excursion buddhist city of Sarnath. Sarnath 10 Kms. from the center of the city, Sarnath symbolizes the birth of Buddhism. It was here that Buddha revealed his doctrine and founded his monastic community. The museum at Sarnath is amongst the most important in India and contains carvings representing a whole range of styles - archaic, the Mathura School, Gupta, past Gupta and Medieval - covering work of sculptors from the 3rd century B.C. to the 12th century AD. Overnight at your Hotel.


Day 09: Varanasi /Kathmandu

Transfer from hotel to airport in time to board flight to Kathmandu. Arrive in Kathmandu and transfer to your Hotel.

1430 Hours - Overnight at your Hotel.

Day 10: Kathmandu

Morning Everest flight. (Optional)

0900 Hours - Morning city tour. Kathmandu is the unique and fascinating capital of Nepal. First visit the 2,000-year-old stupa at Swayambunath. Then drive to the central Durbar Square Hamuman Dhoka, the ancient royal residential quarter, Mahadev & Parvati Temple, Machhender Bahl Holy place for the Buddhist and the Hindus, Temple House of the Kumari - the vestal virgin or the living Goddess. Walk around the local bazaars.

1400 Hours - Afternoon visit to Patan. Patan drive through the Nepalese countryside and visit Patan, known as the 'City of Grace and Fine Arts where you will witness interesting and beautiful places of art and architecture. Enroute you will also be able to visit a particularly interesting exhibit and salesroom at the Tibetan Refugee Craft Center. The tour also includes a visit to the sky piercing temple of the Teleju and the Statue of Yogendra Malla, other Temples and old windows and carved balconies of wood, curio shops and bazaars. Overnight at your Hotel.

Day 11: Kathmandu

Transfer to airport in time to board flight to Delhi. Upon arrival in Delhi Transfer to the International Airport for flight to onward destination.
